What a BLAST we had! Atlanta Diaper Relief Had it’s First Charity Event!

It’s been a week and I truly needed a full week to recuperate from planning and putting together our first Charity Event on Sept 24th at Catch Air in Marietta. It was a small intimate crowd, but our message and presence was LOUD and CLEAR. We are here and we are going to make a difference in the lives of thousands of families in Metro Atlanta.

Families like Martina Adams pictured here:

Martina wrote me a strong heartfelt letter detailing how much Atlanta Diaper Relief is needed in the community. She’s a mom of a 7-month-old baby girl and a victim of domestic abuse and she has a baby on the way. But Martina has strength and resilience and she has us to help her make sure her babies are kept dry and happy. Martina joined us as a guest and has a wonderful time and almost won ALL the raffle prizes! Thank you Martina for blessing us with your powerful testimony. We love you and we’re here when you need us.
There were so many families there to help celebrate. I truly want to thank Elizabeth Jacobsen who is truly an angel and one of our board members. Elizabeth was there for me in more ways than one. She knows ;) I probably could not have gotten through the day without her counsel and shoulder to lean on. I think I was losing it at some point, but she brought me back! Thank you and Tom for being such GREAT supporters. I love you guys. Truly.

Thank you to Father Paul McCabe of the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation for joining us! Father Paul brought his beautiful daughter and enjoyed many of our Camicakes. He needs to be careful because they are sinful! LOL Thank you Father Paul! Also the The Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Marietta, GA will be holding a diaper drive during the month of October! Donations are being collected in the front (narthex) of the church, and diapers of any size or brand are appreciated. All diapers collected will go to benefit Atlanta Diaper Relief. Address: 1673 Jamerson Road, Marietta, GA 30066
This is Dr. Di-Di Saint-Louis who has organized a month-long Diaper Drive with hundreds of her colleagues with the Northside Physicians Group. I made the announcement at the Charity Event. God is good! Thank you Dr. Di-Di for being so kind and for joining us with your beautiful baby.

I gave a special appreciation award to Ronnie and Lamar Tyler of Black and Married with Kids.com for their wonderful contribution of a year supply of Pampers to the diaper bank! I surprised them, but I didn’t make Lamar cry like I wanted to.

This is Amir Dinero, the smart, young Author of “Amir and the Stinky Socks”. He and his mom Miasha, Dad, Rich, Aunt Wanda and his uncle, joined us as Amir signed copies of his book. He made lots of friends too and truly enjoyed catch Air, which is by the way one of the most fun, play facilities around!

Thank you to so many folks, my sister Chanel Morgan for flying in, my aunt and cousins and so many other guests who joined us. Also thank you to the folks at Catch Air, the staff was marvelous and very accommodating and thank you to Eric Payne for taking the time to photograph my event pro bono. And lets not forget out fantastic sponsors!
